Founded in 1975, the Oakridge Soccer Club (OSC) is one of the largest and last community based, not for profit, volunteer based clubs in the greater London region.

Following the values & principles of the Oakridge Optimist Club as friends of youth & community, the Oakridge Soccer Club has evolved into a multi-tiered competitive soccer club that provides opportunities for players from U8 grassroots development to U21 women’s regional to Mens, and Masters Programs to compete year-round.

The success of the club and all of its programs is due to the countless hours spent by an army of volunteers who support players, teams, and the Executive Board to manage the club every season. If it weren’t for these volunteers, the club would be forced to close its doors and no longer provide competitive programs.

Kicked off in 2021, the Executive Board of the Oakridge Soccer Club introduced two Volunteer of The Year Awards ( Grassroots & Competitive) to recognize the dedication & commitment of key volunteers who are supporting the clubs various programs. Nominations are open to any individual who has supported an OSC team/pool/program over the last 12 months. This award will be presented to two individuals who:

-share a deep commitment to supporting youth development, the sport of soccer, and the club
-contribute to the growth of the program
-are organized, punctual, supportive
-go above and beyond, they are an asset to the program/team/club

All nominations are due by Friday, July 15th, 2022.

UPDATE: Monday, January 3rd- 330pm

The Government of Ontario announced on Jan. 3, 2022 that effective Jan. 5, 2022 at 12:01, it will return to a modified Step 2 of the Roadmap to Re-Open Plan, in response to the recent status of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ontario Soccer has reviewed the new directives with the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries and has further confirmed interpretation for our sport.

Among the changes, which impact soccer in Ontario, are the following:

The Government of Ontario has paused all indoor-soccer activities until Jan. 26, 2022, or until further public health information becomes available.

UPDATE: Tuesday, December 14th – 6pm

With the rapid increase in positive cases from the new Omicron variant and local schools being closed and people forced to isolate for 10 days, the Oakridge Soccer Club is pausing all soccer activities effective immediately until further notice. These activities include training, practices, scrimmages, games etc as part of any Oakridge Soccer Club team or program.

Given the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, we collectively feel that the risk of exposure is too great in large settings, it is best we take a pause and regroup in early January.

In the best interest of the health and safety of our players, volunteers, families, and club, taking an early pause for the holidays is in everyone’s best interest.

June 24th - With the Province of Ontario transitioning to Step 2 as part of the government’s re-opening plan, competitive sports and league play can now resume! Effective 1201am, Wednesday, June 30th, competitive play can take place which means teams can practice together (no longer training in groups of 10 etc) to prepare for the Summer 2021 season which will start the following week. Social distancing is still in effect as are the various aspects of the Oakridge Soccer Club’s Return To Play (RTP) protocols for session attendance , pre-screening and onsite tracking.

The EMDSL has notified all clubs that competitive league play for U8-U18 will start on Monday, July 5th and will continue through the middle of September. Restrictions have been lifted for teams to be able to play consistently throughout the summer without the two week isolation period as previously communicated. Furthermore, pool based play will return with teams being able to move players between tiers with ease. For U13+, call ups are permitted for players to play up in games.

Details will be shared directly with Oakridge teams as they become available in regards to game schedules, practices etc.

We look forward to a great summer FULL of soccer!
